The Roland Center launches a redesigned website: The Rebirth of The Roland Center for a bright future!
November 15, 2023, La Puente, California— The Roland Center is excited to share the news that our redesigned website is live and ready for exploration at Therolandcenter.org.
The Roland Center team members have been hard at work crafting a modern and user-centric website that reflects The Roland Center person-centered world-class services brand. From vibrant visuals to a seamless and efficient experience, every detail was carefully thought out to provide a harmonious and engaging experience for the user on The Roland Center website.
Highlights of the advancements on the website include: an enhanced search to find resources for persons served with IDD on health literacy, caregiver resource center, board of directors’ portal; a dedicated online form for parent and stakeholder feedback about The Roland Center program or service; and a streamlined navigation for persons served to select among the 16 services and support provided.
Take a tour of the new site and explore its features.
Life is fast paced, so we have made sure the website is fully responsive across all devices. Whether you are browsing on a desktop, tablet, or smartphone, the experience will be consistently smooth and enjoyable.
The redesign of The Roland Center website complements our vision statement: The Roland Center is changing lives by breaking down barriers that keep adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities from leading fulfilling, independent lives. It is in pursuit of this vision that The Roland Center embarked on this major redesign of the website.

About The Roland Center
The vision for The Roland Center started on March 20, 1946, when Shirley and Ganzer Roland gave birth to their son Gunner. Born with cerebral palsy, the Rolands envisioned a place where Gunner and other adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities could work, thrive, and live self-sustaining lives, rather than be institutionalized, as was the norm.
The Roland Center’s main objectives are to assess the unique needs of the person served with developmental disabilities and create an environment that is calm, quiet, secure, predictable, and safe. This environment allows the persons served to maintain self-care skills, age in place, and slow or mitigate the decline associated with typical aging.
CARF International 2023 accreditation stated, “The Roland Center’s team are commended for being the first specialized I/DD dementia capable system in United States to seek CARF Accreditation. The Roland Center’s dementia person-centered care includes adult day health, respite, transportation, dementia care coordination, and residential services. The Roland Center’s transdisciplinary team’s Down syndrome, dementia, and specialized I/DD dementia care pathways, assessments, and practices are proven evidence-based models with federal endorsement and are progressive and responsive, setting a good example for dementia care in the United States.”
