OVERVIEW
One person. One plan. A lifetime of possibility.
At The Roland Center, our services are not a list of separate programs. They are a continuum. Connected, evolving pathways that grow alongside each person we serve. Adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities don't fit into a single box, and their support shouldn't either. Some are working on foundational life skills. Others are ready to explore their community more independently. Some are pursuing paid employment for the first time. And others need consistent, complex care in a home that feels safe, familiar, and truly their own. At The Roland Center, every one of these realities is met with the same standard: precision support, person-centered planning, and genuine respect for where each individual is in their journey.
A continuum, not a checklist
Most people we serve don’t know exactly what they'll need five years from now, and they shouldn't have to. Our continuum of services is designed so that individuals can move forward, build new skills, and take on new opportunities while maintaining a consistent and familiar support base throughout the entire journey. For many of the adults we serve, that path looks something like this:
Adult Day Program
Adult Day Program is often where the journey begins. A structured, supervised environment where individuals build foundational life skills, confidence, and community connection through daily habilitation, skill building and enrichment programming.
Community-Based Opportunities and Tailored Day Services
Offers the next step for those ready for more independence, moving programming out into the community and shaping each day around the individual's own goals, interests, and pace.
Supported Employment and Career Development
Is where many individuals are
ultimately headed. Real jobs, real wages, and the dignity of contributing their talents in an integrated workplace, supported every step of the way by a team who know them well.
This progression isn't a race, and it isn't required. What matters is that the option to grow is always there, with a team that already knows them, has already earned their trust, and is already invested in their success.
A home built for every level of need that feels
like a safe place to land
Alongside this pathway, The Roland Center provides residential care for individuals who need a higher level of daily support. Through our partner agency, The San Gabriel Valley Residential Facility, our Residential Program delivers complex care and respite services within a warm, community-oriented setting, built to support residents with significant medical needs, dual diagnoses, individual support requirements, and the unique challenges of aging with an intellectual or developmental disability.

What Ties It All Together
Every service we offer, no matter where it falls on the continuum, is grounded in the
same approach:
-
Person-Centered Planning that puts each individual's voice, goals, and preferences at the center of their own plan
-
• Consistent teams who get to know each person well and stay invested over time
-
• Coordinated care across Regional Centers, families, and every member of an individual's support network
-
• CARF International accreditation, reflecting the highest standards of quality across our programming
-
• A welcoming, community-oriented environment where every person, regardless of ability or complexity of need, is treated with dignity
This is what it means to offer truly wrap-around services: not a collection of separate
programs operating side by side, but one organization, one philosophy of care, and one team walking alongside each individual for as long as they need us.
