RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM
Complex care delivered with compassion.
A home, not just a placement.
When an adult with intellectual and developmental disabilities requires a higher level of daily support, finding a residential setting that provides both skilled care and genuine dignity can feel like an overwhelming task. At The Roland Center, those two things are inseparable.
Our Residential Program offers specialized complex care and respite services within a structured, supportive living environment. We serve individuals who need consistent, around-the-clock support, including those with co-occurring medical diagnoses, individual support needs, and adults with IDD who are navigating the additional challenges of aging and dementia.
Complex Care Services
Our residential team is trained and equipped to support individuals with a broad range of complex needs, including:
-
Significant medical or physical support needs alongside IDD
-
Dual diagnoses requiring coordinated behavioral and health interventions
-
Adults with IDD experiencing age-related decline or dementia
-
Individuals transitioning from other care settings who need a higher level of support
Each resident receives an individualized care plan developed in partnership with their support team, family, Regional Center case manager and most importantly, the individual themselves. Care is person-centered, adaptive, and regularly reviewed to ensure it reflects where each resident is today, not just where they were when they arrived.
Respite Services
Caring for a loved one with IDD is one of the most meaningful things a family can do and one of the most demanding. Our respite services exist to give caregivers the relief they need while ensuring their family member receives consistent, high-quality care in a safe and familiar environment.
Whether planned in advance or needed on short notice, our respite program offers:
-
Short-term residential stays in our established, supportive setting
-
Continuity of care from staff who know our participants well
-
Peace of mind for families and caregivers
-
Smooth transitions back home at the end of each stay
Our Distinction in Dementia Care
Adults with IDD experience dementia at higher rates and at earlier ages than the general population. Our team is trained to recognize the unique presentation of dementia in individuals with IDD, implement evidence-informed care strategies, and support families through every stage of this journey with transparency and compassion.
